I'm MacKayla

I'm a freelance designer currently based in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. By combining a visual design background with a love for tinkering with code, I create unique websites and graphic assets.

My Skillset

I'm currently working as a freelance UI/UX & web designer helping small businesses improve their online presence through conducting user research, building functional websites, and creating customized content for social media. I work to make sure my clients have an online presence that truly represents their story, and turns visitors into customers.

Social media gives us the opportunity to hand pick which aspects of ourselves we showcase, and which we keep to ourselves. As a part of the Beyond the Lab exhibition at the Rijksuniversitiet Muesum Groningen, my friends and I created interactive masks using biofeedback sensors each representing a different trait frequently shown on social media.
